The Original Path of Pure Monotheism
Long before religious labels and institutions, there was Abraham — a man who devoted himself completely to God alone. The Quran presents Abraham’s way as the model for all sincere believers. The ‘religion of Abraham’ is not a new religion; it is the timeless path of submission (Islam) — the path God invites all humanity to follow.
Abraham: A Nation by Himself
Abraham is described as an entire community in one man. He was neither Jewish nor Christian. He was a submitter to God alone, rejecting inherited beliefs, idolatry, and tradition. His life epitomizes trust, moral courage, reflection, and pure devotion to God.
Pure Monotheism: No Intermediaries
Abraham’s religion is defined by a single principle: worship God alone.
This means:
- No intermediaries
- No saints or 'holy' humans
- No clergy or religious authorities
- No man-made doctrines
- No inherited rituals outside God’s system
Abraham followed evidence, reflection, and God’s guidance — not cultural expectations.
All Religious Duties Were Given to Abraham
The Quran makes clear that the core practices of worship were given to Abraham long before Moses, Jesus, or Muhammad. These include:
- Salat (Contact Prayers)
- Zakat (Charity)
- Fasting
- Pilgrimage (Hajj)
These duties are not cultural innovations. They originate from God’s covenant with Abraham and were preserved through subsequent prophets.
Muhammad Was Commanded to Follow Abraham’s Religion
Muhammad did not bring a new religion. The Quran repeatedly commands him to follow the religion of Abraham — the same pure monotheistic system God revealed centuries earlier.
This means Islam (Submission) is not centered on Muhammad. It is a continuation of Abraham’s faith. Muhammad revived and purified the original system from corruption, restoring it through the Quran.
Universal Submission
Because Abraham’s religion predates Judaism, Christianity, and institutionalized Islam, it is universal:
- Not tied to race or culture
- Not tied to ritual innovations
- Not tied to sects or religious hierarchies
It is a system based on devotion to God, righteous living, gratitude, fairness, charity, and awareness of the Hereafter.
Beyond Sects and Divisions
Humanity later divided itself into sects and religious boundaries. Abraham’s religion has none of this. It is free of divisions, cultural ownership, ritual complexity, and man-made authority. It is simply the direct relationship between the human being and God.
A Living Message
Abraham’s way is not history — it is a living model. It calls us to rely on God, uphold justice, live ethically, reflect deeply, appreciate blessings, and stand for truth even when alone.
Invitation to Abraham’s Path
The Quran calls all people to return to the religion of Abraham — the original monotheism that unites all messengers. It is the path of submission, freedom of thought, God-centered living, and peace.
It is the path that leads to inner peace in this life and ultimate success in the Hereafter.
