PURPOSE OF LIFE

Why We Are Here and What Our Choice Means Life is not accidental. According to the Quran, we were created for a reason: to know God, worship Him, and make meaningful choices. The world is a field of testing, and every soul has entered it with freedom and responsibility.

We Made a Choice to Be Here

Before birth, the soul is naturally inclined to God. The Quran reminds us of a primordial covenant: “Am I not your Lord?” — “Yes! We bear witness.” (7:172) This moment shows that each soul affirmed God and then entered this world to live, choose, and return. Our coming into this life included a voluntary promise to know God and live in submission.

Life as a Test

The Quran describes this world as a test:
Without choice, there is no accountability. Without difficulty, there is no growth. Every moment of life is part of the divine test.

Our Purpose: Know God, Serve God, Return to God

The Quran gives the essential purpose: “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” (51:56) Worship includes recognizing God’s sovereignty, following His guidance, acting with sincerity and justice, and preparing for the Hereafter. It reflects the path of Abraham—pure submission to God Alone.

Choice, Guidance, Accountability

Because we chose to be here and God provided guidance, the Quran links freedom, revelation, and accountability:
“Whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” (99:7-8) Purpose emerges when you know you are free, guided, and accountable.

Life as a Trust

Life is a trust from God. Health, wealth, family, time, and abilities are resources entrusted to us. The Quran warns against injustice and self-harm: “Do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly. And do not kill yourselves.” (4:29) The meaning of life is found in gratitude, service, and righteous conduct.

Return to God

Our physical life ends, but the soul continues. “You will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do.” (64:9) Purpose is complete when we understand the return to God and live with the Hereafter in view.

Living With Purpose Today

Purpose is activated now—through choices, character, and devotion:

Conclusion

You were created for a reason. You entered this world with freedom. You were given guidance. And you will be returned to God.
Creation → Choice → Guidance → Return.

Life’s meaning is not found in comfort alone but in submission, love, service, and preparation for what comes next. You are here. Make your choice matter.
